La banca centrale della Corea del Sud ha alzato i tassi di interesse di 25 punti base portandoli a 1,25%, ovvero, sui livelli precedenti la pandemia. Nella nota che dà conto dell’intervento, la Banca della Corea avverte che l’inflazione dovrebbe rimanere intorno al 3% “per un periodo di tempo considerevole”, un cambio di tono e di parole, rispetto al comunicato di novembre, che lascia presagire altri rialzi. La decisione arriva a due mesi dalle elezioni politiche ed alla scadenza del mandato del governatore Lee Ju-yeol.

* French utility EDF (EDF.EQ) on Thursday said it was withdrawing its 2022 earnings guidance after the government announced the increase in power prices this year would remain capped at 4% and that the group would have to sell more nuclear power to rivals.(news)
