Barclays downgrades Avon Products (NYSE: AVP) from Overweight to Equalweight. PT lowered from $35 to $31.

Barclays analyst says, "While we believe everything about the Avon brand (product quality, packaging, brochure layouts, advertising) is on more solid footing than it was at the outset of its restructuring program in late 2005, we are concerned about the recent slowdown in Russia and Brazil, which together account for ~25% of total revenues."

"To be fair, we are seeing pockets of continued strength in Turkey, Venezuela (on a local currency basis) and most notably in Mexico. That said, these countries combined represent less than 15% of Avon's revenue base, so with the deceleration in Russia and Brazil, and no near-term signs of improvement in the troubled North American and Chinese markets, we think +6% growth for the total company will be more of an "achievement" than a "given.""
