FRANKFURT (MarketWatch) -- Hungary's central bank decided on Monday to lower its base rate by 25 basis points to 5.50%, effective from March 30. The decision was in line with market expectations. "The relative strength of the Hungarian forint, the dire state of the domestic economy and better inflation news all support the case for lower interest rates," said analysts at RBC Capital Markets in a note published before the rate decision.
