Nell' analisi di cui sopra era scritto anche :"the chart suggests that the price should be able to appreciate to the $34.00 range before encountering significant resistance in the near term. If CIEN should be able to trade above that level going forward, the next and long term price objective would be at the $40.00 level….”

Barclays upgrades CIENA Corp (Nasdaq: CIEN) from Equalweight to Overweight. PT increased from $16 to $18.

Barclays analyst says, "We consider Ciena the best positioned optical equipment play and upgrade to OW: Ciena derives ~90% of sales from next generation optical following the Nortel acquisition. Two new product cycles - CoreDirector FS and 5400 - position Ciena to gain share in 2011 in both the 40G and OTN migration...Looking beyond a weak January quarter: Sluggish CoreDirector sales given the impending refresh could lead January sales below consensus. Better visibility into 2H11, however, allows us to boost our FY12 sales estimate and retain our EPS estimate of $1.20. Our price target is $18 or 15x FY12 EPS and 0.9x EV/sales assuming all the debt converts."
