Euro debt-Bund future hits day's highs after Iran blast
LONDON, Feb 16 (Reuters) - The Bund future rallied to fresh session highs on Wednesday after reports that an unknown aircraft fired a missile in a deserted area near the southern Iranian city of Dailam.
"A powerful explosion was heard this morning on the outskirts of Dailam in the Bushehr province. Witnesses said that the missile was fired from an unknown plane 20 km (12 miles) from the city," Iran's Arabic language Al-Alam television station said.
At 1341 GMT, the March Bund future <FGBLH5> was up 30 ticks on the day at 120.44 and compared to 120.38 just before the news broke. It hit a session high at 120.47.
"The market is a bit fragile and jittery ahead of (U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Alan) Greenspan's testimony so anything that spooks the market like this Iranian news will send investors to the safe haven of bonds," said a trader in Dublin.

U.S. stock futures sell off after Iran blast news
NEW YORK, Feb 16 (Reuters) - U.S. stock futures fell sharply on Wednesday following news reports of an explosion in Iran that state television there attributed to a missile fired by an unknown aircraft.
"This explosion basically sent chills down the spines of futures traders," said Phil Flynn, senior market analyst at Alaron Trading Corp in Chicago. "Oil prices reacted immediately and rallied up to the highs and this caused a corresponding drop in stock prices."
S&P 500 futures <SPH5> were down 7 points, below fair value accounting for interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract.
Dow Jones industrial index futures <DJH5> were down 48 points, while Nasdaq 100 <NDH5> futures fell 8 points.
