Non mi sono mai veramente interessato a queste azioni, ma oggi si leggono le stime di JPM sulle perdite di F e GM:
General Motors Corp. (GM) and Ford Motor Co. (F) are likely to post deeper losses this year due to slowing sales, rising steel prices and lower cost savings from the buyouts of union workers than expected, analysts at JPMorgan Chase & Co. said Friday,
JPMorgan analyst Himanshu Patel slashed his 2008 earnings estimates for the Detroit auto makers to a loss of $7.45 a share for GM and a loss of $1.05 a share for Ford - his are the steepest loss estimates on Wall Street, and well below the average of expectations of a loss of $1.42 a share for GM and 34 cents for Ford.

Io le ho più alte e le tengo... i dati di bilancio son sempre quelli che sono ma se sisteman un po i conti e tiran fuori qualche buon modello di macchina che vende allora può valere molto molto di più. Valgono le medesime considerazioni fatte nel post appoisto che riporto:

Moody's cuts Ford ratings further into junk

NEW YORK, Nov 7 (Reuters) - Moody's Investors Service on Friday downgraded ratings of Ford Motor Company and its finance arm Ford Motor Credit further into speculative, or "junk," territory amid concerns about the pace at which the company is burning through its cash.
The agency cut the corporate family and probability of default ratings of Ford Motor by a notch to "Caa1", or seven notches into junk status. The outlook remains negative, meaning it could lower the rating again within two years.
It cut Ford Credit by one notch to "B3," or six notches into junk, and also maintained a negative outlook.

There will be a considerable degree of downside risk in the US auto sector through 2009," said Bruce Clark, senior vice president at Moody's.
Ford had negative operating cash flow of $13.5 billion in the year through September, while earnings before interest and taxes were negative and did not cover interest costs, he said.
While government loans would improve Ford's liquidity position, with U.S. demand expected in the 12 million to 13 million unit range through 2009, Clark said: "Ford's overall credit profile and metrics would likely remain fairly stressed well into 2010."
Bonds issued by Ford continued to trade at highly distressed levels on Friday. Ford's 7.45 percent bond due July, 2031 was last trading at 28 cents on the dollar, down 1.5 cents on the day.

Il 22/4/2009 Goldman Sachs aveva alzato i il suo rating su Ford (US3453708600) da "Neutral" a "Buy" e fissato un target sul prezzo a $6. La banca d'affari aveva introdotto allo stesso tempo il titolo nella sua "Conviction Buy List". ...
Secondo Goldman Ford si troverebbe in un'eccellente posizione per beneficiare degli importanti cambiamenti strutturali nel settore. Goldman osserva a proposito che Ford ha sufficiente liquidità per sopravvivere anche per tutto il 2010.

Ford sul Nyse attualmente sale di oltre il 13% a $5,09 dopo l' annuncio dei risultati trimestrali
DETROIT, 24 aprile (Reuters) - Ford (F) chiude i primi tre mesi del 2009 con una perdita netta pari a 1,4 miliardi di dollari, pari a 75 centesimi per azione prima e 60 centesimi al netto delle poste straordinarie.
Le attese di 'Reuters Estimates' anticipavano una perdita per azione di 1,23 dollari prima delle una-tantum.
Per un termine di paragone, il primo trimestre 2008 si era concluso con un utile netto di 70 milioni pari a 3 centesimi per azione.
Prima delle imposte, il gigante dell'auto conta di terminare in pareggio o persino meglio l'esercizio 2011 del settore auto e delle altre divisioni. Detroit non prevede inoltre di fare ancora ricorso al sostegno finanziario pubblico.
Si attestano a 24,8 miliardi i ricavi, contro i 21,078 delle aspettative Reuters, mentre la distruzione di liquidità del settore auto risulta pari a 3,7 miliardi.
Illustrando alla stampa i risultati trimestrali il direttore finanziario Lewis Booth prevede che la distruzione di liquidità vada riducendosi nel corso dell'anno dopo la fase più acuta dei primi tre mesi, dicendosi "incoraggiato" dai risultati odierni.
Secondo Booth, inoltre, nei tre mesi al 31 marzo scorso si è visto un lieve miglioramento nei prezzi delle transazioni e il clima economico generale dovrebbe leggermente migliorare nella seconda parte dell'anno. In un'intervista a 'Cnbc' l'amministratore delegato Alan Mulally spiega infine che l'industria ha toccato o sta attraversando ora il punto di minimo e ribadisce che il gruppo tornerà in utile entro il 2011.
