The Province of Buenos Aires Extends Expiration of Invitation Memorandum (as defined below)

LA PLATA, BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, Dec. 7, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- The Province of Buenos Aires (the "Province") today announced that it has further extended the expiration of its invitation (the "Invitation") made to holders of certain eligible bonds (the "Eligible Bonds") listed in the Invitation Memorandum dated April 24, 2020 (as amended and supplemented from time to time, the "Invitation Memorandum") to submit orders to exchange their Eligible Bonds for new bonds pursuant to the terms and subject to the conditions described in the Invitation Memorandum from 5:00 p.m., Central European Time, on December 4, 2020, to 5:00 p.m., Central European Time, on January 4, 2021 (the "Expiration"), unless further extended or early terminated. Accordingly, assuming that the Province, among other things, does not further extend the Expiration or terminate the Invitation early, the Invitation Period (as defined in the Invitation Memorandum) is extended through the new Expiration, the Results Announcement Date (as defined in the Invitation Memorandum) shall be on January 5, 2021 or as early as practicable thereafter, and the Execution Date, the Effective Date and the Settlement Date, each as defined in the Invitation Memorandum, shall be on January 11, 2021 or as early as practicable thereafter.

The Province has engaged BofA Securities, Inc. and Citigroup Global Markets Inc. to act as dealer managers for the Invitation. D.F. King is acting as exchange, tabulation and information agent. Los bonos soberanos con ley extranjera se transaron con mínimas variantes de precios, sin la referencia de la plaza local. En ese marco, el riesgo país de JP Morgan restó cuatro unidades para la Argentina, a 1.452 puntos básicos, aunque cerca de su nivel más alto en el último mes.


Esta semana comenzaron en Washington las reuniones formales entre los equipos técnicos de la Secretaría de Finanzas argentina, liderado por Diego Bastourre, y el staff del FMI liderado por Luis Cubbedu y Julie Kozak, junto con expertos convocados de organismos multilaterales sobre las distintas temáticas. También estuvo presente Sergio Chodos, director por el Cono Sur ante el FMI.


En las conversaciones se aludió a la mejora del perfil de vencimientos de deuda con acreedores externos con inversiones en activos con legislación local, como resultado de diversas operaciones de canje realizadas durante el 2020, y a la estrategia para la profundización del financiamiento vía el mercado de capitales doméstico.

Continuará esta semana con su agenda de reuniones con técnicos del Fondo Monetario Internacional. Buscan llegar a un acuerdo tras el fallido stand-by pactado con el gobierno anterior por alrededor de u$s45.000 millones.





El equipo económico continúa con su agenda de reuniones con los técnicos del Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI), para avanzar en el detalle fino de un nuevo acuerdo entre las partes, tras el fallido stand-by pactado con el gobierno anterior por alrededor de 45.000 millones de dólares.

En las reuniones previstas para este martes los técnicos argentinos presentarán ante sus pares del FMI, cuáles son las estrategias previstas por el gobierno nacional para profundizar el financiamiento vía mercado de capitales doméstico.

En medio de esas negociaciones, en el Gobierno se insistió con que la Argentina "no va a entrar en un programa con el Fondo que vaya a perjudicar a los argentinos", y se destacó que "el programa es el final del proceso con el involucramiento del Congreso de la Nación y es fundamental porque va a impactar en el futuro de los argentinos".
