Eurozone Manufacturing PMI hits fifteen-month high
in May.The REUTERS Eurozone PMI– an indicator designed
to provide an overall view of manufacturing conditions
within the euro area – increased modestly from 50.7
in April to 51.5 May. The latest reading of the PMI
signalled expansion of the economy for the second
month running (following twelve months of either
contraction and stagnation) and the fastest rate of
growth since February 2001. However, although
rising for the seventh month running to indicate a
marked recovery from the survey record low of 42.9
last October, the current level of the PMI is consistent
with only modest growth of the manufacturing sector
