--For the latest second quarter, analysts on average expected the company to earn 16 cents a share, including stock-based compensation but before other special items, according to Reuters Estimates.
--The company, which designs and markets semiconductor image sensors, forecast third-quarter earnings of 5 cents to 12 cents a share on revenue of $135 million to $145 million. Excluding expenses related to stock-based compensation, it expects earnings to be 16 cents to 23 cents a share.
--For the third quarter, analysts on average expect OmniVision to earn 19 cents a share, including stock compensation expense but excluding other special items. The consensus revenue estimate is $146.4 million.
--Shares of the company fell about 4 percent in after-market trade, after closing at $16.29 on the Nasdaq. (Reporting by John Tilak in Bangalore)
