Please have a look and let me know your thoughts about:
1) Spline axis is orientated in x direction, so the ejector pan is slightly tilted. Are you ok with the height of the casting?
2) The “L-support” on the helper side is acting also as stop for the casting
3) One of the front posts is only supporting, the second one is also working as a stop. We have modelled a stop function in plain aluminium of the support post, but we could also think of an adjustable stop by means of a screw that can press against the casting. How would you prefer? What casting length differences do you expect?
4) Setup on the cmm machine according to the 6-speed castings I have seen in Bedford
To better think about developing the programs and the necessary probes, we kindly ask you the following:
5) Please send us an example program PRG of a similar casting (like for example a 6-speed case), with its probe file PRB, and also the respective “PROBE.DAT” file which is in the PC-DMIS subdirectory. With this information we can contact Renishaw and think about the necessary probe extension. Renishaw is producing these extensions only on demand, and the delivery is very long.
6) In case, that the Bedford probe length is not enough to measure all the spline core from the spline core opening, how shall we proceed? Can we deburr the casting skin between helper and operator core and insert the probe from the helper side?
Thank you
