A drone attack on a major pumping station of a pipeline in southern Russia on Monday disrupted crude oil flows from Kazakhstan, the operator of the pipeline said.
The Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) operates a pipeline that runs from the Caspian coast in northwest Kazakhstan to the Novorossiysk port on Russia’s Black Sea coast and carries1.3 M Bbl/d which represents 80% of the total Kazakhstan production.
The pipeline is jointly owned by a consortium of Russian, Kazakh, and international companies (Chevron, ExxonMobil and Shell).
Oil will continue to flow but at reduced flows, pipelines have numerous pump stations along the line.
Ukraine has likely just raised global oil prices, which will Russian oil revenues. Very odd target.
