Situazione Ucraina

American economist Jeffrey Sachs on why the West hates Russia:

[Why does the West hate Russia?]

I decided to look at the period of the USSR's collapse in December 1991. Our then Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney said: "They no longer want communism. Maybe Russia should be dismembered too? Why stop at the Soviet Union?" So this idea was already there back then. It's not about communism, it was about Russia.
It started in 1992. And it has been developing for 32 years: NATO expansion, and we did not listen to Russia, regime change operations, US support for various insurgent movements along Russia's borders.

By the way, this goes back to 1979-80 - when President Jimmy Carter instructed the CIA to work with jihadists. This was how Brzezinski's idea to draw the Soviet Union into the war in Afghanistan was implemented. Later, this jihadist activity became part of America's secret arsenal. This led to wars and instability in all border territories of Russia.

Then there was pressure from NATO and its expansion, the coup in February 2014, and the deployment of American missiles on Russia's borders after the unilateral withdrawal from the ABM Treaty, and then the unilateral withdrawal from the INF Treaty under Trump.

If this continues in the same vein, that is, dictating terms: "We do what we want, we don't listen. It's a bluff," a really serious catastrophe could happen.

‼️🇺🇦🏴‍☠️Kiev has decided to hold Pokrovsk and Mirnograd to the last, otherwise the Russian Armed Forces will gain operational freedom in the Dnepropetrovsk region, — "Flash"

▪️"A military-political decision has been made to hold the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd conglomerate for as long as possible. All possible reserves will be involved for this," said the Ukrainian Armed Forces radio technology specialist Sergey "Flash".

▪️"From a military standpoint, holding these positions is important because they open up an almost flat territory deep into the Dnepropetrovsk region. If the Russians take Pokrovsk, UAVs will be able to operate far from its heights.

▪️But no position is worth the lives of people, and I hope that if there is a need to save people, it will be done in time," added Sergey Beskrestnov.

▪️Earlier, the Ukrainian military told Western media that they were essentially surrounded near Pokrovsk.
