PrivatBank boosting charter capital by over 25%
The largest bank in Ukraine PrivatBank (Dnipropetrovsk) is boosting its charter capital by UAH 5 billion or 27.6%, to UAH 23.101 billion via an additional issue of shares, the bank has reported in the information disclosure system of the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market of Ukraine.
According to the report, the decision was made by the bank's shareholders at a general meeting held on April 6.
The bank will privately place additional shares. The shares are placed at UAH 280.36 per share, which equals their market value.
The share placing is aimed at increasing the economic indicators for the bank's capital.
As reported, the bank's shareholders at a general meeting on February 10 approved the new bank regulations regarding the increase of the charter capital by 5.5% or UAH 1 billion, to UAH 19.101 billion. The new regulations have not yet been registered at the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
PrivatBank was founded in 1992.
According to the bank, at the beginning of 2015 its largest shareholders were Hennadiy Boholiubov and Ihor Kolomoisky (36.98% each), as well as Triantal Investments Ltd (16.23%).
The bank was the largest bank among the 158 banks operating in the country on January 1, 2015 by total assets (UAH 204.585 billion), according to the NBU.
