Moby SpA’s bonds fell to close to a record on Friday after the Italian ferry operator reported steepening losses.

The 300 million-euros ($348 million) of notes due February 2023 dropped 5 cents on the euro to 78 cents, near the levels seen last month when Italy’s financial markets came under pressure as a populist government came to power, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

The group on Thursday said it extended losses before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization to 15.6 million euros in the first quarter and that it’s selling some receivables to fund operations amid delays in subsidy payments.

Moby, which renegotiated bank loan covenants at the end of last year, has drawn down "almost all" of its revolving credit facility and sold about 15 million euros of receivables, Head of Investor Relations Luciana Russo said on a conference call with analysts on Thursday.

“Liquidity is clearly tight especially when selling short-term receivables at 72 cents,” Stephen Lienert, a credit analyst at Jefferies, wrote in a note to clients. “There is still a long way to go here.”

The company also said it paid 3.5 million euros to charter ships currently under construction from F.lli Onorato Armatori Srl, an affiliated company.

“We consider this yet another questionable affiliate transaction,” Jeffrey Cope, an analyst at Stifel Nicolaus in London wrote in a research note.

In an earlier statement of results to the end of 2017, the company disclosed it bought a Milan property “previously held by the chairman of the board of directors” for 7.6 million euros.
