La situazione è che Nyrstar, operando in un settore ciclico, sta subendo la crisi economica. I conti non sono molto buoni, hanno avuto un'estrazione minore rispetto alle previsioni per problemi tecnici e in più ci si è messo anche il partner finlandese in difficoltà.

Nyrstar would like to provide a media statement regarding the Talvivaara Sotkamo Ltd reorganization proceedings.
Heinz Eigner, CFO of Nyrstar states: “We appreciate the decision of the Finnish Court to appoint an interim administrator for Talvivaara Sotkamo and to allow the company to produce further financial information to the administrator. We have had an opportunity to meet and to have several discussions with the interim administrator and, through this dialogue, have obtained additional information and established a more clearly defined process moving forward. As a result of this additional comfort on the process, we have decided to reinstate our support for Talvivaara Sotkamo’s reorganization application. We continue to engage with all relevant stakeholders and look forward to working with the administrator within the reorganization process to find a long-term resolution for the current situation.”
