Street fighting is raging in Pokrovsk, the Russian army controls most of the city — NYT

"The situation is very complicated, as a significant part of the city has already been captured. When they encounter our positions, they engage in firefights," one Ukrainian serviceman told the publication.Pokrovsk forms the last major defensive line protecting the Ukrainian Armed Forces-occupied part of the DPR. The fall of the city will bring Russia closer to achieving its long-standing goal — the liberation of the region.It is unclear how long the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to maintain control over Pokrovsk. There are currently too many Russian troops in the city for Ukraine to push them back.
