United States President Donald Trump is reportedly open to holding a meeting with Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, whose presidency has been under dispute in the past year, he told Axios media outlet in an interview.
According to the news agency, Trump "suggested" he was reconsidering his decision to recognize Juan Guaido as the South American nation's leader, noting he has turned down the offer to sit with Maduro for now, adding, however, that he is willing to "think about" the meeting.
"I would maybe think about that. Maduro would like to meet. And I'm never opposed to meetings, you know, rarely opposed to meetings," Trump reportedly said.
