S&P Global Ratings cut on Tuesday Delta Air Lines Inc.'s credit rating to "junk". Delta's credit rating was downgraded by two notches, from BBB-, the lowest investment grade, to BB.
"While the company is reducing its capacity and some associated costs, and will benefit from the steep decline in oil prices, we expect these supporting factors to be more than offset by its much weaker traffic," S&P said.
Last week, Delta said its revenue in the second quarter will drop 80% to $10 billion, due to coronavirus pandemic. Earlier in the month, the company said it will reduce the number of flights by 40% over the next four months.

Pentagon officials expect the measures to curb the coronavirus spread to last for "months," or up to around three months, based on the experiences of Asian countries.
"You’re looking at eight to 10 to 12 weeks, call it three months, based on what we know from other countries like China, Hong Kong, South Korea, etc, that may or may not apply to the United States," said Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley (pictured) on Tuesday.
