ANKARA, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Here are news, reports and events that may affect Turkish financial markets on Wednesday.
The lira
traded at 31.1530 against the U.S.
dollar at 0419 GMT, weakening slightly from a close of 31.1450 on Tuesday.

GLOBAL MARKETS
Asian stocks were tentative on Wednesday ahead of a U.S.
inflation reading this week that could influence the timing of the Federal Reserve's easing cycle, while the New Zealand dollar fell sharply after the central bank softened its hawkish stance on rates.
ERDOGAN PROGRAMME
President Tayyip Erdogan will make a speech at an election rally in the western province of Kutahya ahead of nationwide local elections being held on March 31. (1100 GMT)
DEFENCE MINISTER
Turkish Defence Minister Yasar Guler will meet his Bosnian counterpart and the members of the Bosnian presidency council during a visit to Sarajevo.
MAIN OPPOSITION
Ozgur Ozel, leader of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), will speak at the party's local election candidate announcement in the western province of Mugla. (1000 GMT)
FOREIGN TRADE
The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce foreign trade data for January (0700 GMT).
ECONOMIC CONFIDENCE
The Turkish Statistical Institute will announce the economic confidence index for February (0700 GMT).
CENTRAL BANK RESERVES
The Turkish Central Bank's net reserves decreased by around $6 billion last week to some $22.5 billion, according to four bankers' calculations on Tuesday.
