"Doug Kass, over at RealMoney.com is saying 'Buy Financials' (AMEX: XLF). Kass said he covered his sector shorts late last week.

Kass, a notable bear, is making the call partly as a contrarian play, but also cites some other notable things: Permanent capital is being replenished, Government policy will not be standing still, the seized-up credit markets will not be a permanent condition, credit writedowns will likely peak in Q4 2007, many managements have been turned over with more likely in the near term, business franchises are intact, financial are statistically cheap against sustainable earnings, financial have dramatically underperformed related to the S&P 500.

Kass has made several prescient calls over the past 6 months and is a must read."

L'indice S&P500 da 1400 punti scese a 1250 per poi risalire a 1400 e poi giù, giu fino ai 666 punti.

effettivamente non ho sempre seguito quello che scriveva Kass. Probabilmente avevo letto qualcosa anche nel 2008 ma non mi era rimasto impresso.
Più che altro ho cercato articoli di Kass tra marzo 2009 ( quando da qualche parte avevo letto che qualcuno rifreriva che Kass sosteneva che si fosse in area bottom o che il bottom fosse imminente) e luglio 2009 , e non so più cosa abbia reso pubblico recentemente. ( vedo poi se trovo qualcosa dato che mi è venuto in mente)
A volte dava indicazioni di breve termine o diceva che operazioni stava facendo sul breve termine ( anche uno short di 2-3 giorni poi di nuovo long , per esempio) a volte faceva previsioni per il medio termine. Non ho mai pensato che potesse essere infallibile.
