Deutsche Telekom, Greek Government Choose Tsamaz as Hellenic Telecom CEO

Tsamaz, who heads Cosmote, the company’ mobile-phone unit, will take over from Panagis Vourloumis on Nov. 3, according to an e-mailed statement from Athens-based Hellenic Telecom, known as OTE. Deutsche Telekom owns 30 percent of Hellenic and the Greek government 20 percent.
“OTE has a crucial role in the country’s development and the broader region and in enhancing the competitiveness of the Greek economy,” Finance Minister George Papaconstantinou said in the statement. “Tsamaz, as a common choice of the main shareholders of the organization, will successfully face the difficult tasks ahead.”
Shares of Hellenic Telecom added 3 percent to 5.78 euros on the Athens Stock Exchange, valuing the business at 2.8 billion euros ($3.9 billion).
Tsamaz has headed Cosmote since September 2007 and been an executive at Hellenic Telecom since 2001. He takes over from Vourloumis, who was appointed in 2004. Under Vourloumis, the company cut its workforce and sold unprofitable units in Greece and other countries.

Workers at "Kathimerini" newspaper struggle against closure
Journalists and workers at the "Kathimerini" struggle to save the famous Greek newspaper from bankrupcy and closure. The workers said that a 58 year old historical newspaper shouldn't be allowed to close in one day.

Journalists and other people working in the "Kathimerini" struggle to save the famous Greek newpaper from bankrupcy and closing. The workers said that a 58 years historical newspaper (its birthday was yesterday) can't close in a day.
They blame the newspaper owner Kostas Saradopoulos as the only one responsible for the paper's problem and for the fact that the workers are not paid for over 4 months. They had taken over the offices of the paper and went on a 48 hour strike wanting their money and to keep their jobs. They are determined to keep struggling and want the solidarity of the Greek society.
Representatives from the Eleftheros Typos a follow newspaper who had problems many months ago said that they will help their colleagues as they had the same problems and know the difficulties. Together they said they will struggle till they win.
Tomorrow the "Kathimerini" workers will gather at the offices of the newspaper at 12pm and march towards the newspaper worker union (ESIEA) wanting their support.

Mark dovrebbe farsi sentire più spesso.
Nelle ultime settimane il Mot ha corso molto in anticipo rispetto ai mercati OTC che, solitamente, erano sotto di 100 tick all'incirca.
Il prezzo dell'ingrosso e quello al dettaglio.

Oggi la Borsa di Atene è andata bene: l'indice ASE quota 1605 punti con + 1,24.
I nostri TdS invece continuano un pò a soffrire spingendo lo spread/bund verso i 700 pb. in movimento laterale negativo.
