CBOT says technical snafu halts screen trading

CHICAGO, March 7 (Reuters) - Electronic trading at the Chicago Board of Trade was halted at 9:20 a.m. CST (1020 EST/1520 GMT) on Monday, exchange officials said.

"E-CBOT was shut down by technical difficulties that are being worked on currently," the spokeswoman said. Open outcry trading is continuing.

Most of the CBOT's financial futures trading takes place on the E-CBOT system.
