KIEV, Dec 22 (Reuters) - The new chairman of Ukraine's PrivatBank said on Thursday he and the central bank were ready for talks with the bank's bondholders who are facing a bail-in, but were also ready to go to court if necessary.
Ukraine declared PrivatBank, the country's largest lender, insolvent on Monday and took it under state control.
As part of a state rescue, holders of PrivatBank Eurobonds would be subject to a bail in.
"We, together with the central bank, will try to find common language with the Eurobond holders," Oleksandr Shlapak told a televised press conference in the city of Dnipro, where PrivatBank is headquartered.
"Otherwise we will try to defend our position in the courts," he added. (Reporting by Natalia Zinets; Writing by Matthias Williams; Editing by Alexander Smith)

premesso che potrei dire un mare di fregniaccie... visto che reperire notizie sulla vicenda ukrina è molto difficile
Sembra che ad oggi i senior non siano ancora stati tagliati perchè soggetti a legge UK. Il governo però vuole farli partecipare e quindi mi aspetto un qualche tipo di offerta a breve.
Vedremo... magari semplicemente ci pigliano a calci e via... ma con Imf che monitora credo che tutto venga fatto secondo le leggi, anche se è loro interesse segarci purtroppo.

rettifico pare eurobond siano stati convertiti in azioni perchè considerati affiliati a vecchi azionisti. Io affiliato non sono cmq vedremo.... sembra una mossa per spaventare e arrivare al compromesso
Eurobonds of PrivatBank (Dnipro) have been included in the list of financial tools transferred to capital, Board Chairman Oleksandr Shlapak has said.
"Eurobonds were included in the list of financial tools that were transferred to capital. It was the decision of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU). I think that we jointly with the NBU would try to make arrangements with the bond holders. If nothing is reached, we will substantiate it in court," he said at a briefing in Dnipro on Thursday.
As reported, the Individuals Deposit Guarantee Fund and the Finance Ministry of Ukraine on December 21 signed an agreement to sell 100% of shares in PrivatBank.
Earlier NBU Governor Valeriya Gontareva assessed the possible additional issue of shares at UAH 32 billion.
The NBU also said that the central bank considers PrivatBank's eurobonds as liabilities affiliated with former owners of the bank and they will be converted into bank capital.
