DJ MARKET TALK: Comex Copper Continues To Hit New Highs

1402 GMT [Dow Jones] - Comex copper continues to reach new ground as large
price swings have become the norm for the red metal. July copper hit another
record high of $3.4920 per pound. The contract is currently trading up 17.50
cents at $3.480 per pound. Larry Young of Infinity Brokerage says a full swing
construction season and building interest from the funds is giving copper a
giant boost. Even though volumes have been light, Young says new money is
"waiting on the sides" for the right opportunity. Metals, currencies and
energies are the top three right now for influx of fund money. "Of that copper
has been the most consistent and investors are trying to get the best returns.
So with a favorable outlook on the demand and spec side," copper is rallying,
says Young.

DJ Comex Copper Review: Bullish Factors Lead To New Highs

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--A confluence of bullish factors lead the way for Comex
copper to break to higher ground on Thursday at the New York Mercantile
Exchange.

Most-active July hit a record high of $3.5050 per pound during the session.
At the close the contract was up 17.45 cents at $3.4795 per pound after some
light profit-taking took the contract off its highs.

Traders said light volume led to large prices swings but bullish comments
from global miner BHP Billiton Ltd. (BHP), who said that its view of both
refined copper and copper concentrate markets remains "very positive" as
disruptions to production look set to continue and stockpiles remain low, was
seen as the driving force behind the rally.

In addition, BHP said that copper from mines is unlikely to catch up with
surging demand by the start of 2008, a longer period than most analysts had
predicted.

Ongoing supply constraints led by a six-week strike at Grupo Mexico's La
Caridad mine and a possible strike by workers at Chile's Lomas Bayas mine next
week have provided strong support to the market.

During the session, several traders noted the drop in volume in copper that
has given prices a reason to rise at a rapid pace with large swings possible on
both sides of unchanged.

As of 12:00 p.m. EDT, volume for Comex copper was estimated at 15,000 lots.
That figure up from Wednesday's final volume of 12,244 but down from about a
week ago when volume was more than 30,000 lots.

"The volatility is causing a lot of players to remain on the sidelines," said
a trader.

Strength in the London copper market added to the momentum in New York.
Three-month LME copper hit a new record of $7,725 per metric ton.

Meanwhile, news of that molten lava has begun flowing from a volcano on the
Indonesian island of Java has sent speculation swirling through some parts of
the market that Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc.'s (FCX) giant Grasberg
copper mine in Indonesia could be impacted.

The company didn't return a call for comment by publication time.

tutti agli inizi siamo gnuranti

il wheat è trattato alle grida, alcuni broker offrono la possibilità di trattarlo online: nel momento in cui tu dai un buy a 380 per esempio l'ordine passa a un desk del cbot che passa il foglio di acquisto a un fattorino che lo porta al floor trader della fossa . Questo in realtà fino a qualche anno fa , ora i floortrader hanno una sorta di palmare dove ricevono gli ordini dal desk e quindi poi regolano il trade alle grida.
Non vedi proposte nel book per questo motivo. C'è però il circuito elettronico nel nostro mattino e qui vedi il bid-ask nei book.
Tutti i grains saranno portati sull'elettronico dal 1 agosto , la svolta storica del cbot

ah capito, in realtà quasi tutte le commodities americane son trattate alle grida ma possono essere trattate online grazie agli accorgimenti che ti ho descritto
le commodities del LIFFE invece sono tutte elettroniche ma IW non le offre, anche l'ICE è diventato tutto elettronico ma IW misteriosamente offre il Brent solo al telefono

Il wheat e gli altri grains hanno la seduta normale alle grida che va dalle 16,30 alle 20,15
c'è poi il circuito elettronico , che sarebbe il ecbot , che va dalle 2,00 alle 13,00 ma anche questo non so per quale ragione IW non lo offre

valore-contratto = 33,2 troy oncies X 700 $ circa per oncia = circa $ 23250
= circa € 18500 . . . è giusto . . ?

MINI-SILVER :

valore-contratto = 1000 troy oncies X 13 $ circa per oncia = circa $ 13000
= circa € 10300 . . . è giusto . . ?
