Athens Airport Says 11-Month Passenger Traffic Declines 4.3%

Athens International Airport SA said 4.3 percent fewer passengers passed through the facility in the first 11 months of the year, hit by “turmoil” in the Greek economy.
The number of people passing through Greece’s biggest airport declined to 14.4 million, from 15.1 million in the same period a year earlier, according to a statement posted on the company’s website. International traffic dropped 1.9 percent, while domestic fell 8.2 percent.
In November, 9.6 percent fewer passengers passed through the airport compared with the same month in 2009. The number of international travelers fell 2.8 percent to 611,636, while domestic passengers were down for an eighth month to 378,172, a 19 percent drop, the statement showed.
Athens airport is majority-owned by the Greek state and managed by German construction company Hochtief AG.
Tourism accounts for 16 percent of Greece’s gross domestic product and about one in five jobs, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council, an industry group.

Sale a 1,1 mld euro contro i 603 della settimana precedente
(ANSA) - ROMA, 28 DIC - La Bce ha acquistato la scorsa settimana titoli di stato per 1,1 miliardi di euro contro i 603 milioni della settimana precedente. L'incremento degli acquisti indica un rinnovato timore dell'Istituto Centrale europeo circa una possibile ripresa della crisi dei debiti sovrani. Lo riferisce il Financial Times, precisando che gli acquisti si sono concentrati sui titoli portoghesi ed irlandesi.

MILANO (MF-DJ)--L'indice Ase della Borsa di Atene e' in rialzo dello 0,5%.
"Il mercato e' supportato dalle blue-chip che si stanno riprendendo dopo le recenti forti pressioni alle vendite. I volumi sono bassi a causa della chiusura per le vacanze e di quella della Borsa di Londra", ha riferito un analista locale. I volumi si manterranno bassi fino alla fine della settimana.
Opap e' in rialzo del 3,3%, National del 2,1%, Eurobank dell'1,8% Hellenic Postbank dell'1,7%, Alpha dell'1,5% e ATEbank dell'1,4%

Per essere una opinione mi sembra scritta in modo fin troppo perentorio. In prima pagina abbiamo già questa "sentenza":
Inoltre, la notizia che Atene non solo estenderà manu militari le maturazioni delle sue obbligazioni al 2013 e opererà tagli dei rendimenti ma addirittura ristrutturerà il proprio debito con il beneplacito (offerto segretamente) dell’Ue e della Commissione europea, rappresenta un invito a nozze per le società di rating.
A leggerlo sembra sappia il fatto suo ma da come scrive c'è poco spazio alla "fantasia"...

Greece to resume T-bill sales in Jan: PDMA chief
ATHENS, Dec 28 (Reuters) - Greece will resume its monthly T-bill auctions next month after a pause in December as it seeks to refinance more than 4.0 billion euros of maturing debt, the head of the country's debt agency (PDMA) said on Tuesday.
Shut out from bond markets by prohibitive borrowing costs, the overborrowed country has been financing its budget deficit and maturing bonds through a 110 billion euro ($144 billion) bailout agreed with the IMF and its euro zone peers in May.
In September, the debt agency switched to monthly auctions of short-term debt instead of quarterly sales, seeking to improve cash management. Its monthly auctions of three- and six-month T-bills were paused in December.
"There is no change, we will resume our programme of monthly auctions. These take place on the second and third Tuesday of every month, except in August and December," debt agency (PDMA) Chief Petros Christodoulou told Reuters.
PDMA needs to roll over a total of 4.48 billion euros of short-term treasury paper maturing next month. On Jan. 14, 1.04 billion of one-year T-bills and 2.0 billion of six-month paper expire, followed by 1.44 billion euros of three-month T-bills on Jan. 21.
Under PDMA's monthly plan, the next auctions will be on Jan. 11 and Jan. 18.
