ATHEX Flattish - Focus On NBG
Athens General Index hovers around 1,500 on Monday as National Bank of Greece rights commence trading. NBG shares move lower while PPC and OPAP post the highest gains among in the FTSE20 Index. Turnover stands at 53 mln. Euro.
“We anticipate some enhanced volatility in our domestic market as NBG rights commence trading” ATE Securities said in its morning report.
Piraeus Securities expects the market to take direction from NBG’s rights while Eurobank Securities comments that “the positive international climate could instill some optimism in the Greek market today” with domestic focus remaining on NBG.
Across the board PPC trades 3.09% higher at 11.66 EUR followed by OPAP’s 2.35% gains and ATEBank’s 2.06% rise. Coca-Cola Hellenic moves 1.26% higher at 19.34 EUR while shares of Ellaktor, MIG, Alpha Bank and Marfin Popular Bank remain unchanged.
In negative territory, NBG retreats 2.75% at 7.78 EUR, followed by Bank of Cyprus (-1.72%), Titan (-0.83%), Bank of Piraeus (-0.27%) and Hellenic Telecom (-0.18%).
Total turnover stands at 53 million EUR.
