In effetti. .

Hi Sissi, please note that 26% is the general taxation applied by Italian Government to financial revenues (dividends or coupons) for all citizens. There is no withholding tax for non-usa residents with Binck.

Hi Joe

You mean that in Italy tou have a flat tax at source of 26% that frees you from adding that revenue to your yearly declared income for taxation ??
My experience with Italy is 15% for a non-resident (I had shares in Intesa for ex.)

Do you mean that Binck keeps 26% to give to your government in Italy?

Any broker whether IB or Binck, Lynx etc has to respect American withholding rules on preferred shares.
Withholding on american preferred is 15% / but some friends had 37% taken off MLP's by Binck.

The tax payable on the revenue in Italy, France or Luxembourg is another story... France has even a 30% flat tax since 2018!

In my country of residence (luxembourg) the 15% withheld at source by the USA through the broker ...turns into a credit towards eventual tax to pay on the dividend amount in Lux. The dividend is taxable, but 50% is exempt. Then... it depends on the tax bracket... Up to 34k for us it is zero tax... then 8% then 10% etc...

Anyway it is fascinating how we all get taxed... a lot but differently ! haha!

Yes, Binck retains 26% at source for our beloved (?) government. A financial convention between USA and Holland, where Binck is registered, provides for total exemption of local taxation for non-resident individuals.
