Half of this had been withdrawn from the country and the other half was being kept at home. Since the protests began, Sfeir said inflows to Lebanon had “not stopped but they have weakened certainly”.“What is really hurting is the reaction of people ... It is safer to keep your money in a bank than to keep it at home.” Some investors have suggested that seizing a proportion of bank deposits or a haircut on government bondholders, reducing the value of their asset, may be needed to escape the crisis.

I am increasingly of the view that #Lebanon’s gov’t & BDL debt should be viewed as odious debt, as illegitimate debt: national debt incurred by a corrupt regime that should not be enforceable.

A domestic debt re-profiling a la Brady bond with a limited hc is feasible & easy to implement as the debt is overwhelmingly held by BDL and the banks. Equivalent to a once on tax on the banks. Depending on a large budget deficit cut, there would be no need for deposit hc.

Non so se qui se ne è fatta menzione, forse si e mi sono perso i post in merito (ma non mi pare, il 3d è tutto sommato ancora di poche pagine).
Ho pensato per mero scrupolo di googlare la Black List aggiornata e dai risultati ho trovato elenchi e fonti discordanti. Alcuni siti riportano il Libano in lista nera 2019. Altri no, tra cui un paio di articoli aggiornati sulla tassazione dei TdS proprio pubblicati su IO.
Qualcuno ritiene di saperlo con certezza ?
