2,5 mln euros in RES in 2011
ANA-MPA/Investments in renewable energy sources have more than doubled in the past year and it is estimated that in 2011 investments that will take place will be in the region of 250 million euros, while in the depth of a decade, meaning until 2020, investments will reach 16 billion euros and, in addition, another 4-5 billion euros will be invested in transport and distribution networks.
This was mentioned from the podium of the monthly board of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry by Deputy Environment, Energy and Climatic Change Minister Yiannis Maniatis, stressing that great importance is placed on investments in networks since every year Greece spends about 500 million euros for the electric power supply of unlinked islands.
He reiterated that "there are serious indications that our country has investment utilisable deposits of oil and natural gas" and said that in the coming days an auction will be proclaimed for research in western Greece in land regions and the Ionian Sea as well as Crete, pointing out that it is the ministry's substantiated assessment that there shall be international investing interest.

Bangkok - Gli indici azionari asiatici stanno registrando il calo piu' significativo dal 15 marzo, con il taglio del rating della Grecia da parte di Fitch e con il giudizio negativo di Standard & Poor's sull'Italia che aumentano i timori sulla situazione del debito in Europa. I segnali vanno a unirsi ai dati poco rassicuranti sulla situazione dell'economia USA e del Giappone.
L'indice MSCI Asia Pacific perde oltre il punto e mezzo percentuale. Dopo un inizio piu' moderato, l'indice Shanghai Composite della Cina va a registrare la perdita piu' consistente (-2,69%). In forte ribasso anche il KOSPI di Seul (-2,64%), a cui segue l'ASX200 dell'Australia (-1,88%), l'Hang Seng di Hong Kong (-1,85%), lo Straits Times di Singapore (-1,68%) e il SET della Tailandia (-1,23%). Il NIKKEI di Tokyo chiude a 9.460,63 punti (-1,52%).
"Il rischio piu' grosso riguardo l'Europa e' quello di un contagio globale", ha detto a Bloomberg Prasad Patkar di Platypus Asset Management. "Il ricordo della crisi finanziaria e' ancora vivo negli investitori e nessuno vuole ritornare al punto di partenza".
Il dollaro ha avuto il piu' forte rialzo dall'11 maggio, mentre l'euro e' in calo su 12 delle 16 maggiori valute a $1.4049 da $1.4161.
Tra le materie prime, i metalli e quelle del settore energia sono in calo. Brent a $110,42 (-1,75%). Oro poco variato (-0,01%) a $1.508,8.

French government says China backs Lagarde for IMF head

PARIS (Reuters) - French Budget Minister and government spokesman Francois Baroin said on Tuesday that China supports Finance Minister Christine Lagarde as candidate to be the new head of the International Monetary Fund.
"It's a European consensus," he told France's Europe 1 radio. "The euro needs our attention, we need to have the Europeans (on board), the Chinese support the candidacy of Christine Lagarde," he said, noting it was too early to say whether the French finance minister would be a candidate.
European governments have said they wish to retain their traditional control over the leadership of the multilateral lender at a time when it is heavily involved in major bailouts in Greece, Ireland and Portugal.
