G8 leaders want Greece to work harder on reform-Japan
DEAUVILLE, France | Thu May 26, 2011 10:52am EDT
DEAUVILLE, France May 26 (Reuters) - G8 leaders said on Thursday that Greece needed to make more progress on fiscal reform and work with the IMF on its debt problem, Japanese deputy chief cabinet secretary Tetsuro Fukuyama said.
Fukuyama said that Group of Eight leaders, meeting for their annual summit in the northern French coastal town of Deauville, did not discuss the succession battle at the International Monetary Fund during talks on the world economy.
They said, however, that the euro zone's debt problems were a factor weighing on the global economy
