Lafarge sets 5-yr bond at 1 bln euros -IFR

LONDON, May 18 (Reuters) - French cement maker Lafarge (
LAFP.PA) has set the size of a planned five-year euro bond at 1 billion euros ($1.35 billion) and price guidance for a yield of 7.75 percent, IFR reported on Monday.
Market guidance talk earlier had been that the bond would amount to 750 million euros and be priced to yield 8 percent, said IFR Markets, a Thomson Reuters online news and market analysis service. It added that investor interest has amounted to more than 10 billion euros.
BNP Paribas, Calyon, Citigroup, HSBC, Morgan Stanley and Societe Generale are managing the sale of the bond, added IFR.
Lafarge is rated BBB- by both Standard & Poor's and Fitch Ratings and Baa3 by Moody's Investors Service. ($1=.7384 Euro) (Reporting by Jane Baird; editing by Mike Nesbit)
