Borsa Atene: Ase chiude a -2% su incertezze


MILANO (MF-DJ)--L'indice Ase della Borsa di Atene chiude la seduta in ribasso del 2% a quota 1.464,68 punti con un volume di scambi di 81,9 mln euro in scia all'incertezza della ripresa economica.
Coca Cola Hellenic scende del 5,1%, Eurobank del 3,5%, Alpha del 3,1%, Titan del 2,9%, Ppc del 2,8% e National dell'1,5%.

Anche qui ci stiamo riavvicinando ai minimi ... in ottica di diversificazione - rimanendo in ambito Grecia - un ETF Az. Greece ci potrebbe stare.
Rammento che in questo ultimo periodo abbiamo oscillato intorno ai 1400 punti di minimo ad un max di 1600 punti.

Greek Church takes on 'antichrist' in ID card row

ATHENS — Senior clerics in Greece have told the state in no uncertain terms that vigilance is required to prevent the antichrist from making a manifestation on new ID cards to be issued next year.

The authorities must ensure that the cards contain no mention of the number 666, which in Greek Orthodox tradition is associated with the antichrist, the Church of Greece said in a statement.

"In no way should the 'citizen card' contain the number 666, either in visible or invisible manner," the Holy Synod, governing council of the Church of Greece, said after a meeting between canon scholars, legal experts, computer specialists and government officials.

"The Church is obliged to protect personal freedom and defend the integrity of the faith," the Holy Synod added.
State planners have pledged to take the observation on board, it said.

The new cards are to be finalised early next year.
The Church is officially part of the state in Greece.

Frequently criticised as backward and superstitious by liberal circles, Orthodox custodians strongly adhere to tradition surrounding the number 666, which appears in the biblical Book of Revelation, believed to have been written by the Apostle John in the first century AD.

Also known as the figure of the Beast, the number has led ultra orthodox clerics to oppose the use of bar codes on goods, as well as electronic checks carried out under the border-free Schengen Area of which Greece is a member.

A decade ago, the Church of Greece had fought tooth and nail to prevent the removal of religious affiliation from the previous batch of identity cards issued to Greeks, even organising a referendum on the issue.

At the time, religious minorities such as Catholics and Jews had successfully argued that the inclusion of faith on the cards could expose the bearer to discrimination.

Greeks march to mark student revolt anniversary

ATHENS (Reuters) - Greek police fired teargas at a small group of stone-throwing protesters as thousands marched through Athens on Wednesday to mark the anniversary of a 1973 student uprising against the dictatorship then ruling Greece.
About 15,000 students and teachers, workers and pensioners marched under heavy rain to the U.S. embassy, chanting slogans more relevant to Greece's current debt crisis, such as "No IMF, no EU, let's take our fate into our hands".
A Reuters witness said a small group of youths in black started to smash shop windows and fired a flare at police in full riot gear, who responded with one round of teargas.
The annual march, guarded by more than 7,000 police officers, marked the uprising at the Athens Polytechnic University, where dozens are believed to have been killed when tanks rolled down the school's gates to crush a revolt that heralded the end of the 1967-1974 military junta.
"This year the anniversary finds our country in a prolonged crisis, in very tough times," said Gregoris Tassoulas, a top public security official. "Greek people are now struggling for economic survival."
Greece is implementing tough austerity measures, such as tax-hikes and salary cuts, prescribed by the EU and the IMF in exchange for 110 billion euros ($148.5 billion) in loans aimed at pulling the euro zone country from the brink of bankruptcy.

Ue/ Tre scivoloni verbali in tre giorni di tensioni sui mercati


Roma, 17 nov. (Apcom) - Tre scivoloni verbali azzardati nell'Unione europea su tre giorni ad alto rischio sulle tensioni dei mercati.
Difficile pretendere sinfonie accordate da tutte le voci del coro: 27 paesi, più la Commissione, composta a sua volta da vari commissari, più il presidente permanente, più l'Eurogruppo, più la Bce e i suoi governatori e così via; ma certo che in questa fase di fibrillazioni sulle difficoltà dell'Irlanda l'Unione non ha dato il meglio di sé nelle comunicazioni.

Lunedì scorso, mentre si cercava di rassicurare i mercati sulla tenuta dei paesi con i conti più fuori scala - tra cui Portogallo e Grecia - proprio il portoghese Fernando Teixeira dos Santos, ministro delle Finanze ha gelato tutti parlando di "elevati rischi" di necessità di aiuti anche sul suo paese.
Salvo poi consigliare ai suoi colleghi prudenza nelle dichiarazioni, perchè quando sono "sbagliate o poco chiare - ha detto - sono una fonte di nervosismo sui mercati".

Il giorno dopo un'altra sparata altrettanto allarmante è giunta dal presidente dell'Ue in persona, il solitamente morigerato Herman van Rompuy: ha detto che l'area euro e tutta l'Ue stavano lottando per la "sopravvivenza"; salvo aggiungere di esser "fiducioso" che i problemi sarebbero stati risolti.
Ma questo ha spinto il commissario europeo agli Affari economici a prendere posizione: non è a rischio la sopravvivenza dell'euro, ha detto Olli Rehn, ma c'è un grave problema sulle banche irlandesi che va risolto.

Infine, oggi, mentre a fatica sembra delinearsi una strada proprio verso la soluzione del dissesto delle banche irlandesi, salta fuori il ministro delle finanze austriaco, Josef Proell, riaccendendo attenzioni sulla Grecia, dicendo che la prossima rata di aiuti Ue è stata rinviata perché Atene non avrebbe rispettato i suoi impegni.
A sua volta è stato smentito da Bruxelles: non c'è nessun rinvio, da tempo era previsto che la rata di competenza su dicembre sarebbe stata effettivamente stanziata a gennaio.

Papandreou Says Greece Has Been ‘Credible’ in Budget-Cutting

Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou said his government has gained “major credibility” in its attempts to tackle the country’s budget deficit.

“We have gained major credibility over the last few months by the fact we have taken very difficult measures,” Papandreou said in an interview on BBC World News television today.

“We have been credible in what we said we would do. We have cut the deficit more than the target. The target was for 5.5 percent. It will be cut by 6 percent this year.”
Greece is “not on a path to insolvency,” he said. “We will survive and we’re moving ahead.”

The Greek budget shortfall was revised earlier this week to the highest in the euro region, putting pressure on Papandreou to adopt more austerity measures to meet pledges included in the bailout package that allowed the country to avoid default.

His government’s fiscal crisis started a sovereign-debt crisis in the euro area that has seen Irish bond yields soar this month on concern it will also need to be rescued.

“What we do have now, what we didn’t have in the Greek situation, for at least a few months, was a way out,” Papandreou said.

“Ireland does have a way out if the markets continue to put pressure on Irish sovereign debt. We do have this mechanism. If it is necessary to be used, Europe will come to the rescue.”

U.S. confident in Europe's handling of debt crisis

WASHINGTON Nov 17 (Reuters) - The White House expressed confidence on Wednesday in Europe's ability to grapple with the debt crisis that began in Greece and is spreading to other countries, such as Ireland.
"We continue to believe, as we did with Greece, that Europe has the ability to deal with the crisis in Ireland and possibly in other countries," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs told reporters.

Secondo alcuni analisti, la crescita dei rendimenti sui bond degli Stati periferici europei è stata causata in parte dai timori sul fatto che i futuri pacchetti di salvataggio potrebbero obbligare i detentori di titoli di Stato a delle perdite. Niente salvataggio per l'Irlanda, solo la promessa di consultazioni "brevi e mirate"

Sai la vita è fatta di tante belle speranze, attese e ... delusioni.
Solitamente cerco di non mettermi mai nei guai, ma quando capitano o gli vado incontro, cerco sempre di venirne a capo senza sbattere troppo la testa.
Questo è un caso specifico in cui non bisogna perdere di lucidità ma ragionare sempre con la propria testa.
Fortunatamente sul thread siamo in tanti, con tante buone idee.
Cercheremo di venirne a capo tutti ... chi più o chi meno in gain.
