LONDON, Nov 1 (Reuters) - Private sector investors in Greek government bonds are working with Greek and euro zone officials to finalise a plan to cut the nominal value of their holdings in half, the lead negotiator for the banks said.
The Institute of International Finance (IIF) on Tuesday reaffirmed its commitment to the deal agreed last week and said it wanted to "finalise and move toward implementation" of the voluntary deal.
The deal was "in support of Greece's reform effort to recover from the current crisis, restore market access and lay the basis for renewed growth," the IIF said in a statement.
Greece's prime minister dropped a bombshell on the rescue plan late on Monday by calling a referendum, throwing Greece's euro zone membership into jeopardy and sending bank shares tumbling
