Altacor's new account manager sees potential of new products
To head up the launch of its range of new products into the optical and pharmacy channels, Altacor has appointed Lee Woodward as National Account Manager.
Formerly key account manager at Sauflon, a contact lens and aftercare solution manufacture, Lee is looking forward to the challenge of his new role.
“This is an exciting time for Altacor, the company has a portfolio of specialist ophthalmic products under development, several of which are near market and will launch in 2013.
“These products will help to support the entire treatment pathway from the hospital ophthalmologist through to the GP and high street optometrist, helping to grow the sector by creating new business opportunities.
“I have spent over nine years working in the optical channel and think that the professionalism within the industry has been under utilised. Many GPs feel uncomfortable when dealing with eyes and with the impending changes in commissioning I predict a closer relationship will emerge between optometrists and GPs.
“The training and support that Altacor has provided for its range of Clinitas products has allowed an increasing number of optometrists to set-up dry eye clinics to diagnose and treat this condition and I see similar potential with other products in the pipeline.”
Cambridge-based Altacor, was established in 2007 by Dr Fran Crawford and Mr David Alcraft to develop and market a range of high quality products for Glaucoma, Dry Eye and other corneal conditions as well as for application during ophthalmic procedures.
Dr Crawford says; “Lee brings a wealth of experience gained from working across the industry with product knowledge training programs and business development strategies. It is great to have him on board to support this next phase in our growth.”
