Alcoa (AA) shares rose about 1% after hours as the aluminum giant beat analysts’ earnings expectations and held fast to its 2020 demand expectations (the company has said that aluminum demand will double between 2010 and 2020). But Alcoa reduced its 2012 aluminum demand forecast to 6% from 7%.
Alcoa posted 3 cents of EPS, against expectations for a break-even quarter; revenue of $6.42 billion outpaced expectations for $5.57 billion.
