DISCLOSURE EXPROPRIATION SNS REAAL and SNS Bank

The Minister of Finance announces:
The Minister of Finance, after consultation with the Dutch Central Bank and in accordance with the Prime Minister, pursuant to Articles 6:2 and 6:4 of the Act on Financial Supervision decided to expropriate:
- All the issued shares in the capital of SNS REAAL NV;
- All issued by SNS REAAL NV Stichting Beheer SNS REAAL Core Tier 1 capital;
- All the issued shares in the capital of SNS Bank NV are held by persons other than SNS REAAL NV or its subsidiaries;
- All subordinated bonds of SNS REAAL and SNS Bank NV;
- All subordinated private debts of SNS REAAL and SNS Bank NV.
All shares, Stichting Beheer SNS REAAL Core Tier 1 capital securities and subordinated bonds are expropriated in the name of the State of the Netherlands. The expropriation of the subordinated debt carried by private expropriation of those debts corresponding passive assets of SNS REAAL and SNS Bank in the name of the Foundation Settlement Private Debts SNS REAAL, located in Utrecht.
The decision on expropriation occurs today, 1 February 2013, at 08:30 pm in operation. The expropriated securities and assets go at that time are automatically transferred to the State of the Netherlands, or the Catholic Private Debt Settlement SNS REAAL. The original owners could from that time no more about the effects expropriated assets and disposal.
The expropriation has proved necessary because of the desperate situation in which SNS Bank and SNS REAAL had come to be and serious and immediate danger of this situation went to the stability of the financial system.
