Foreign investors show confidence in PDVSA
Caracas .-Through various funding agreements between Petróleos de Venezuela and the major oil companies in the world, it has shown the confidence generated by our industry among foreign investors, despite the recent sanctions imposed illegally by the State Department the United States against our country.
The signing of a funding agreement between the oil companies ENI of Italy and Petroleos de Venezuela, for a total of $ 2 billion is to manufacture a crude upgrader in Jose and building a power plant in Güiria of 500 megawatts. There are also future funding agreements with China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) to develop Petrosinovensa, with funding of $ 4 billion, which are evidences of PDVSA importance to materialize an investment of foreign capital in Venezuela.
"While there are regions in the world with so much economic instability, our country continues to attract investment from friendly countries and major enterprises are accompanying us in our development plan. It will be like that: we have proposed our country on an accelerated exploitation under the Oil Sowing Plan of the Orinoco Oil Belt, "said Minister for Energy and Petroleum and PDVSA President Rafael Ramirez.
He said the Venezuelan oil company is consolidated through the confidence of international investors, while recalling the recent high-level agreement between PDVSA and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for projects to expand the Palito and Puerto La Cruz refineries, amounting to 1,500 million dollars.
Early Production
Minister Rafael Ramirez said that this year and in 2012 will continue the search for early production of oil, for which it has asked various members of the Company to submit their own financing schemes.
"We have an agenda regarding the acceleration of early production in the Rafael Urdaneta Project in the Cardon IV Block, for this we will bring together a platform, pointing to the year 2012," said the Minister.
Similarly, the Minister for Energy and Petroleum said it is working on issues relating to joint ventures in the Gulf of Paria "production in the CPF is already underway for installation, we are now producing 40 000 barrels per day and we will produce 70 000 barrels a day.”
Ramirez said the funding agreement between PDVSA and Eni will allow the development of basic engineering and infrastructure in the Orinoco Oil Belt.
He also announced that it is working to accelerate the development of these projects through an organization with a tendency to territorial issue "in the Oil Belt we are concentrating all our responsibility. We are shipping from Cabruta and Cabrutica. The whole organization of the Belt has moved to the place to begin building what should be a major center of oil production, an industrial center because that is President Chavez´s idea: Socialist PETROINDUSTRIAL bases of special areas of the Oil Belt where we have to concentrate to meet this goal, "he said.
