Ottimo l'articolo e sommario dell'ultimo quarto macy's.
In condizioni molto difficili, secondo me il management si sta muovendo bene. Alcuni punti chiave che a me piacciono:

• disciplined cost management
• Strong liquidity position with approximately $1.6 billion in cash and approximately $3 billion of untapped capacity in the company’s asset-based credit facility.
• Digital sales grew 27% over third quarter 2019. Digital sales penetrated at 38% of total owned comparable sales.
• Gross margin of 35.6% compared to 23.6% in the second quarter of 2020, an improvement of approximately 12 percentage points. The improvement was driven by disciplined inventory management, better sell through of both full-price and clearance merchandise and lower clearance markdowns.
• Selling, general and administrative (“SG&A”) expense of $1.7 billion, down $476 million from third quarter 2019, illustrating efficient expense management and improved colleague productivity in stores.

Naturalmente, nonostante il recupero maggiore del previsto nel trimestre, rimane pesantissimo il bilancio annuale dovuto al Covid con un enorme -13.20 usd per share di perdita accumulata finora sull'anno (di cui solo 0.29 usd nel trimestre ultimo).
Il titolo nel premarket sta letteralmente ballando su e giù, da -10% a -0,5% a ondate.

Quando sono usciti i dati -10%

ci sono episodi che rimangono ben impressi nella mente e uno di questi riguarda proprio Macy's. Escono i dati, pre-market a +12%...certificato che dorme....entrate a più riprese...alle 15:30 Macy's apre e in 20 minuti da +12% va a -10%...nel frattempo ovviamente nessuna possibilità neanche di difendersi....da quel giorno mi devono pagare, pure bene, per entrare su un pre-market qualsiasi di Macy's
