ASE Rises Ahead Of Critical Conference Call
With National Bank, Eurobank and PPC topping FTSE20, the Athens market moves upwards on Wednesday, ahead of the conference call between Papandreou-Merkel-Sarkozy.
Prospects from PM’s teleconference with the German and French leaders and reports for pressures from the US President on Europe to find a solution on its debt crisis avoiding a possible domino effect may support the domestic market today, said Marfin Analysis in a report.
Given the market remains sensitive to developments regarding the fiscal crisis in the Eurozone, Eurobank Equities would expect investors to remain cautious today ahead of today’s conference call (after market close) between the Greek PM and the leaders of Germany and France.
Similarly, Piraeus Securities focuses on the conference call, expecting the domestic market to stabilize at current levels.
On the board, banks outperform with profits of 4.21%. Attica Bank gain 4.76% at €0.44, while National Bank’s profits exceed 4% at €3.08.
The General Index moves in positive territory since the opening, posting profits of 1.62% at 856.77 units. The turnover stands at €21.8 million, while a total amount of 69 shares rise, 18 decline and 26 remain unchanged.
