Thank you for your inquiry regarding the hybrid tier 1 issue with the ISIN XS0173287862 (RZB Finance Jersey II with 5.895% until Jul-13, 3m€+270bp thereafter; after buy-back in March 2012 currently around EUR 45.5mn outstanding; possible call date in July 2013).

RBI seeks to maintain a high quality and efficient capital structure and optimise its balance sheet, however cannot comment on any theoretical future plans for liability management or exercising call options.

Based on current drafts of the CRD IV regime this Hybrid Tier 1 capital seems not to be eligible as Additional Tier 1 capital after the call date because of the step-up included in the dividend. However, the exact CRD IV wording is not finally decided neither is the implementation date yet clear.
