PDVSA offers ULSD and jet fuel, Petrotrin selling gasoline
HOUSTON, Jan 28 (Reuters) - State-run Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) launched a tender on the open market to sell one to two cargoes of ultra low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) and one cargo of jet fuel for delivery in February, after dedicating all of its diesel to the growing domestic market in recent years, according to offers seen by Reuters.
PDVSA, which had reduced its jet fuel offerings after problems at its main refinery, launched a previous tender earlier this month to sell up to two 240,000 barrel cargoes of jet fuel for the first week of February going out from its refinery, the 645,000 barrel per day (bpd) Amuay
.
The oil company is now offering another 240,000 barrel cargo of jet fuel, this time going out from Curacao on February 17 to 19, and up to two 240,000 barrel cargoes of ULSD with 10 parts per million sulfur from its 187,000 bpd Puerto la Cruz refinery for February 7-18.
This is the first time in recent years that the Venezuelan firm is selling ULSD on the open market, after dedicating all the production to satisfy the growing domestic thermoelectrical demand.
Payment must be made in euros eight days after the delivery of the bill of lading, the tender says. Offers will be received until January 28 and prices must be indexed to ULSD from Northwest Europe or the Mediterranean.
For its part, Petrotrin will sell six to 12 cargoes of unleaded gasoline 87 or 91 octanes with maximum 80 parts per million sulfur, to be delivered from April to October. Destinations can be chosen by the buyer, except the Caribbean, and offers will be received until January 31.
Petrotrin is a state-run company and the largest crude oil producer in Trinidad. It operates the 168,000 bpd Pointe a Pierre refinery in the Caribbean country.
