Hello! I am new to this board and I don't speak italian well. Please tell me if I am welcome nevertheless.

What do you think of the WestLB hybrids: 8% $ XS0216711340 and 6% € DE000A0D2FH1?

Both vest a silent partnership in the core bank of WestLB. While loss-sharing and not cumulative, they are pari passu with the new silent partnership of the german Bank-rescuing agency SoFFin. The german-bad Bank law is very favorable to rescued banks as banks owners have to take the losses but not the bank or their preferred securities or silent partnerships. So coupons will continue to pay with a very attraktive current yield.

Al forumista che mi aveva chiesto dell'opportunità di rientrare sul titolo ed al quale avevo suggerito di vedere se teneva il prezzo corrispondente ad un rendimento lordo alla call del 5,5%, con i prezzi attuali siamo su quei livelli... se lo perdesse, abbastanza probabile che scivoli ancora un po'...

Ciao Mark, io ero poi rientrato a 91 .... per ora mi va bene così, magari se scendesse ancora incremento un pò ....

io cmq non ho ancora ben capito questa loss abs. cosa causerebbe e perchè sarebbe così negativa..

I am intrested with this bonds of westLb .
we've already asked some question to the Investor relation of the bank.

the investor relation said that if they will close the year in loss, no coupon will be paid, and they will also use the loss absorbtion option....


the situation is not clear for me in this moment.

It is important to know if there will be any cost with the new plan.

in particular they want to give €85 billion of asset to the bad bank . but i don't now if there will be any cost over it....


anyway i already have the two silent participation of the bank....

i hope that they will continue to pay, but i am not sure over it.

i don't know why, but in my mind i also think that maybe they will close the year with a big loss, because of the cost of the rescue plan.


however the price in this moment is really very actractive

i read that the Soffin can change is silent partecipation in shares.


"The SoFFin will in a first step take a silent participation to the value of €3billion in the WestLB core bank which from 01.07.2010 can be converted to shares."


but if they take the silent partecipation, i think they will like to receive coupon, and if they pay coupon to the soffin in turn they will pay us.

loss abs vuol dire che se ricorre l infausto evento per cui è prevista fanno un taglio sul capitale nominale da rimborsare, in genere però è previsto anche il ritorno al nominale in caso di + lieto evento, il tutto come da prospetto informativo corrispondente al titolo di cui si tratta

sicuramente c'e' roba che puo rendere molto di piu' con rischi maggiori

io come rischi ho le postbank, e come safe ho bpm e cs 6.905

OH capperi, sapevo che c'era qualche gabola ... grazie Negus per le info ... in effetti al #8452 c'era qualcosa che non mi spiegavo, forse è questo il problema (rammento : emessa circa un mese fa a 100 e adesso vale 88 ) va beh, io aspetto ancora un pò per, eventualmente, prenderla !

Si sta gia'riprendendo, ne ho preso un "microchip" oggi a 91,75 rende sempre oltre il 10% rating o non rating non credo abbiano problemi a pagare le cedole.
